去年上海網誌年會帶回來的一本書。利用零碎的時間閱讀完畢，心得感想：
* 不知有無繁體中文譯本？衛生署？
* 有 WHO 的資源果然如虎添翼，做道路安全研究方便許多
* 本書最具價值的部分是參考文獻的資料
* 行人優先協會應該很需要這一本，我送給她們好了。改日有機會去上海再買
* 安全第一
* 這篇是我對鍾怡雯《喂 騎車的》一文的回應

一早起來看到 Oui-Blog 上被推薦的〈228全球接力秀台灣，邀請你的參與〉的活動，我馬上想到的是在 Connecting the Bleeding Edge With the Bleeding Heart 一文中所寫的：
But despite significant progress made as heads and hearts collide, there still exists a significant disconnect between technologists and social activists. A prime example is the open source movement, which is having trouble translating the promise it offers nonprofit organizations and the everyman into a language and actual services that they can understand. A large part of the problem is that many tech geeks lack street credibility and the activists and people on the ground are unable to communicate in geekspeak. When translators with great ideas do emerge from either group or from the middle ground, these ‘technivists’ often lack the funding resources and marketing apparatus to bring their ideas to scale.
意即，有技術資本的團體在街頭實務經驗上，無法取信於實務工作者；實務工作團體則是很難將自身需求，以更為精準的語言來表述。而每當有聽的懂這兩邊的人冒出頭來時，又缺乏金元和行銷奧援。
文後的建議是：

去年底由苦勞網主辦的「提筆鬥陣：獨立媒體研習營」就是一場很好的研習營，屬於上面所講的第一項。第二個建議，或許有不少這方面的例子，但是我不知道。第三個建議的部分，我相信在台灣很難找得到。

看來要跑達卡還有這個解法

2006 Codes and Statutes, FIM Sporting Code, 70.2.1. FIM licence for riders, passengers and teams:
A FIM Licence may be issued to a foreign rider, after the FMN to whom the application is made has obtained the approval (release) of the FMN of the country of which he is a national or in which the applicant is a permanent resident. Such approval will be given only once for the period of validity of the licence. Requests for any additional international licence for the same period to another FMN are prohibited.
簡單來說，就是要離開台灣，代表…… 貝里斯或是巴拉圭出賽的意思。還有這一條，跑跨國比賽會遇到的問題：
In the case of meetings in which part of the meeting takes place on public roads, the rider must be in possession of a valid driving licence for motorcycles – if this is a legal requirement of the country in which the meeting takes place – together with a valid FIM rider’s Licence.

愛知萬博 Expo2005.net 的網址

目前打 Expo2005.net 的網址會直接轉到 Flickr 的愛知萬博群組。這網址即將在今年3月20日到期，我也沒有意願再續購。不過這個 Flickr Group 在未來上海世博舉辦前，可能有一些典藏的價值。目前會員共有171位，而來自四方大德在愛知萬博展覽期間所送上來的照片，約有1030張。其中不乏相當傑出和細膩的作品。另外，如果有人是做展覽規劃的，從這麼多影像裡，應該也可以抓出不少點子。
當初買這個網址之目的，是希望有個簡短好記的「入口」，讓無法親身前往但又想一窺究竟的朋友，能善加利用。不過當初跑一趟博覽會，想學到的東西已經入袋，自己也沒必要再做這方面的事。有興趣的朋友，不妨考慮購入玩玩。
補：我還有兩千多張萬博的照片不知要如何丟出。不知寫博的讀者裡，有沒哪一位是未來上海世博的工作人員？

這些，對我這個新聞教育工作者來說，都是有趣又有助於提升專業智能的訊息。
蔡志浩《紅海船難「不是」鐵達尼號翻版》：
在含有 “Egypt ferry” 的約 2,470 則新聞中，只有 6% 提到了 “Titanic” 這個詞。而使用這個詞的語境，多半都是引用我之前提到的那位生還者的描述，或是回顧歷年重大海難。對照國際媒體的用法，國內媒體用「鐵達尼號」這個詞，用得實在是太浮濫、太不適當了。

這兩三天的實際例子。工商時報《Google3月登台 雅虎奇摩備戰》：
業界人士分析，Google第一階段是衝刺美國市場，接下來才是亞太地區，其中大中華區的重點布局不盡相同，很明顯的將產品研發、搜尋技術設在中國大陸（由中國區總裁李開復主導），而台灣分公司側重於業務……
三天後，我們在《Google來台設研發中心 要向中研院借將》的新聞中所看到的是：
據了解，Google與中研院共同合作成立的搜尋實驗室，會以中文化及本土化的搜尋技術為主要研發項目。
當然，最新一則關於 Google 來台的新聞能否盡信，也應持存疑態度。不少人是透過外電來了解週遭世界，藉由新聞而做出事業判斷之依準。但若訊息的產製和 mediated 的過程太於輕率，成為常態，那麼輕則失財，動則喪邦。
