Blog跟英語教學研究計劃 (JSCET)

網路已經改變大部分人的學習型態;英語學習是其中一個改變最顯著的學習領域,這是一個新的虛擬烏托邦超連結文本的世界,人們可以無限的學習自我成長,卻不需要花上任何一毛錢,當然先決條件需要有基本的電腦軟硬體配備;另一方面網路改變學生尋找學習資料跟老師的行為,十幾歲的英語系國家小孩可能是你英文聽說讀寫的老師,本研究主要在探討如何善用網際網路的特性讓英語教學更為生動活潑且更具實用性。例如,如何使用電子郵件學習英語,學生對於網路學習英語的實際接受度為何?[實施此種教學的學習評量工具為何?如何營造特殊的網路英語學習環境?實施這種學習方式的必要跟充分條件為何?這份行動研究不僅理論更利用認證中文網站來做實證,加上前人的研究,相信對於自己往後的英語教學跟網路與英語教育的關係必定有極大的助益。

相信英語文教育曾經是許多人的愛與痛。在英語學習雜誌滿天飛,商家大喇喇宣稱,運用「數位多媒體」可以改善教學情境,寓教於樂,並且誘發K-12教育體系下學生學習英語文動機,加強英語深入日常生活的時代中,這一個新型態的部落格可能會面臨什麼樣的挑戰、門檻,還有必須克服的「使用慣性」?非英語系的教育部落格資源中,有沒有類似的教學計劃以玆借鏡?在教學上 Underlining platform 番新的同時,instructors 是否已經對於這個技術的潛力和限制,有所預想和心理準備?

I changed my strategy for advocating weblogs in my local educational setting: Each member of the group is supposed to run his own weblog and the group weblogs aggregate and form intersections.

The immediate response from one student: »I don’t see a need for that.«. Why is it that some people see the immediate appeal of it while others think it is pure overhead? There seems to be conflicting mental models about the whole weblogging hype. [Oliver Werde]e>在K12教育架構不鼓勵buttom-up learning 的情況下,計劃階段性告成後,經驗要如何 port 出去?這是不是 top-buttom 的教學引領,還是容許 buttom-up 的自主學習?但是,沒有先「上而下」的引領,哪來的「下而上」的自主?價值意義可以如何定位?Sebastian Fiedler 的這一段話讓我想到了一個可能的詮釋:

If we follow the assumption that learning-to-learn requires an awareness of the processes whereby meaning is created and that we usually gain control over mental processes via linguistic and symbolic “handles” it becomes clear that a lack of (process) language for learning greatly limits our outer and inner (learning) conversations. Without such conceptual tools we simply have a hard time to converse with ourselves and others about how our patterns of meaning can be (re-)constructed, tested, and brought under review.

教育部落格可以作為承擔孕育「學習語言」的平台(sounds good, but second thought renders it as far out?)。

Jim McGee 對於在 educational setting 和 industrial setting 上使用部落格的觀察:

The structural problem is educational settings modeled on industrial lines, which measure a peculiar kind of productivity. This creates and perpetuates an environment of experts with secret insights to be learned. Better to create an environment where all are experts and learners at the same time. As a learner, I want to have a way to tap into experts, who might be anyone who knows more than I do right now and is willing to provide some pointers. As an expert, I want to have other learners around who help me explicate my expertise by asking questions I’ve forgotten and seeing problems I no longer see.

  1. 我想把blog拿來做台語文教學,但是還沒有一個清楚的構想,看這些英語,華語教學的blog計畫給我滿多的啟發,不知道什麼時候才有辦法寫個簡單個企畫書給『非常數位落差的』台語文社群看,與瞭解。

  2. 我是大陆的一名英语老师,现在正在研究网络英语阅读能力方面的问题,可部也找不到“阅读能力”方面的资料,不知网上有哪们高手能指点迷津。我有下列问题请教:
    1、阅读能力如何分类?
    2、网络阅读能力又如何分类?传统的阅读能力和网络的阅读能力有什么不一样?
