Dakar hit by death of a legend – Times(UK)

THE Dakar Rally was yesterday left shocked after one of the event’s legendary motorcyle riders was killed. Fabrizio Meoni, from Italy, who had been running second in the bike class, crashed his KTM about 184 kilometres into the eleventh stage, between Atar and Kiffa in Mauritania.

沙漠雄獅，義大利車手 Fabrizio Meoni，昨日在巴黎達卡的競技路上，因事故後送醫，45分鐘急救無效，不治，享年47歲。這是繼去年10月的 Richard Sainct 之後，第二位陣亡的傳奇車手。
