新年還真是許多的 surprise。中國的 BlogChina 買下 BlogDriver，而 Six Apart 買下了 Livejournal。Livejournal.com 的多語版中文介紹：
LiveJournal是一个易用（但十分强大并且可定制）的个人出版（“博客”）工具，它建立在开放源代码软件之上。加入这个站点是免费的，用户为了获得额外的功能可以选择升级他们的帐户。

Six Apart是Movable Type（Blog发布系统）及TypePad（Blog服务）的母公司，拥有超过100万的付费用户，在今年十月获得August Capital 600万美金的第二轮融资后，成为了Blog Service 商业化的典范。而此次合并Live Journal后，其用户数目将增加到650万，成为Google的Blogger.com服务和微软MSN Space服务的最强有力的竞争对手。小公司如何挑战大玩家，让我们拭目以待。

洪致文投書中時的《歷史建築 差點又毀了！》：
元旦早晨，台北公館水源地旁，舊台鐵新店線最後見證——台鐵新店線員工宿舍，被標得土地的業主雇工找怪手開始拆除。這處由公館地區居民發起保存的歷史建築，是台鐵一條民國五十幾年消失的新店線鐵路，至今幾乎是少數唯一殘存的最後大型遺跡。
