taipei101b.jpeg來自 Skyscraper’s Page: Taipei 101 is currently the official world’s tallest building. Its spire, currently under construction, overtook those of the Petronas Towers (452 meters) sometime during the week of August 10-16, though visual confirmation was unavailable until August 22.

More information and the discussion forum. The building will also contain the world’s two fastest elevators, traveling at 1000m/min from the lobby to the observation deck on the 89th floor.

手機隨身拍下的精采生活片段，如果還能加點創意玩邊框、做特效就更好了，偏偏並非每支照相手機都內建有影像編輯功能；沒關係，現在上網就行，中華、遠傳電信紛紛推出相片編輯功能，靜態的照片上網不只能加框、變浮雕、變油畫、換表情，還能做成連續動畫，玩個痛快！

中華電信把既有的「我的相片簿」升級，拍好的照片上傳可以剪裁、旋轉、加框或浮雕、碳筆油畫、模糊化、銳利等特效，共有36種調變效果可選，原本靜態的照片還可以連拍製作成生動活潑的動畫，或讓系統幫你搞定，不用傷腦筋。

做好了圖還可以加入音樂、文字，用MMS一次傳送給多人，上網編輯圖片不用額外費用，全部比照MMS依檔案大小收費，30K以內網內4元、網外6元，超過30K每1K網內加收0.12元、網外0.18元。

遠傳的「MMS動畫工場」和中華電信的圖片編輯一樣由甲尚科技提供，只要準備一張照片，就能變出各種搞怪的表情動畫，也有多種邊框和表情符號任你搭配。

不過，遠傳的圖片編輯另外要收取資訊使用費，每則10元，MMS傳送費則依檔案大小計算，30K以內網內5元、網外7元，超過30K網內以每1K 0.18元、網外0.24元。

手機玩影像成趨勢，台哥大、和信近日則將推出手機大頭貼沖印服務。

nokia3200.jpegKeith Nowak，Nokia 發言人在接受華爾街日報的的訪問時表示："faceplates, interchangeable plastic covers that snap on and off of cellphones, are an important part of our business. Of the 152 million phones Nokia sold in 2002, more than half had changeable covers." 嗯，沒錯，新的 Nokia 3200 採取變臉戰術，使用者購買時會拿到十張空白的保護貼，可以使用一般的噴墨印表機將所需的圖案轉印到保護貼上。WSJ 內文又透漏，Motorola 也準備好了手機專用的 Swarovski 水晶飾品。對我而言，這個沉溺的藉口實在不夠力，可是對年輕的小妹妹們呢？她們可是新經濟的最佳行動實踐者。君不見，多少點子都是她們想出來的？

Network365.com – Mobile Payment(隨時隨地大失血)

Mobile payment 的發展(今年五月)：來自愛爾蘭的 network365 跳過由地緣巨頭 Orange, Telefónica Móviles, T-Mobile 和 Vodafone 主推的 Simpay，直接搶近日本市場，而且被 NTT DoCoMo 欽點為御用的 M-Payment(DoCommerce)。以後可以使用手機來隨時隨地的付費(然後被自動催繳和扣款？)。

有趣的是，只有 Orange 認證的軟體才能在手機上安裝。此趨勢不幸被倫敦金融時報言中。 MMS MEMO：

最近 smartmobs 的 Howard 常在 thefeature.com 上活動，因此整個討論區就活躍了起來。今日，Douglas Rushkoff 上了一篇文章名為《Social Currency》，提起一些目前持續注意「聰明暴民」趨勢的人們對於電信產業中 content providers 的觀察：

Like the lunatics responsible for the dot.com boom and bust, these entrepreneurs still don’t get it: in an interactive space, content is not king. Contact is.

在討問串中 Rushkoff 又復言：

They’re spending their money on content for entertainment, without realizing that the users are more than happy to create or *be* the content of their entertainment experiences.

第三屆歐洲女性騎士會師

不經意逛到芬蘭的 Ministry of Transportation and Communications，一些有趣的數據提供參考。五百一十五萬人、兩百萬輛車、十七萬輛大小摩托車、三百二十萬台的腳踏車。官方的 Finnish Road Administration 網站也有不少即時的道路資訊，包含了天候、大氣溫度、地面乾濕、道路表面溫度和影像等服務。當然，你也可以比對國內交通部台閩地區機動車輛數統計(91年底)作為對照。

Nokia 6850 現身？

nokia6800.jpg雖然 Nokia 的 6800 可能沒有進入台灣市場的打算，但是後繼機種 6850 已經現身(德文、捷克文)。撇開技術規格不論，這一系列的最大特點在於左右橫開式的鍵盤設計。在目前貝殼款式(clamshell)當道的競爭下，Nokia 此舉是否能成功掠得使用者芳心，仍有待觀察。我個人則是樂觀其成躍躍欲試。

Panasonic ΣBook「電子書」亮相

sigmabook.jpg日本 Panasonic 推出的電子書專用液晶顯示器「ΣBook」，即使沒有電源，畫面仍可維持，並具有電子著作權保護功能。180dpi 的解析度，長29公分、寬20公分、厚1.3公分，重550公克，使用兩顆3號電池，最長使用時間可達半年，或閱讀一萬頁左右，預計未來將有五千種的小說或漫畫軟體陸續推出。

歐盟開始測試 GPS 協助之道路救援服務

在 “Pay-as-you-go motoring just around the corner," 歐盟太空總署(ESA)表示如果高速公路的道路救援服務能夠以 GPS 定位計算里程，那麼托吊的費用將會更為合理：

Experiments are currently under way in Ireland, Portugal and Germany, before an extension to other countries. Potential benefits of such a road tolling system would be fairer implementation of charging on a ‘pay for use’ basis. All these experiments are using the US-operated Global Positioning System (GPS). But in 2010, when the system is fully implemented, it will use Galileo, scheduled to be operational by 2008.

日經新聞：ドコモ、通話用ＰＨＳ開発中止

ＮＴＴドコモは通話用ＰＨＳ（簡易型携帯電話）端末の新規開発を中止した。契約者数の伸びが見込めず赤字続きのため、高速データ通信など次世代分野に研究開発を集中させる。現行製品の製造・販売やサービスは継続するが、将来は新規契約を打ち切り、第３世代携帯電話「ＦＯＭＡ（フォーマ）」事業にＰＨＳ事業を吸収させる公算が大きい。

放棄PHS系統？DoCoMo：亂講

針對日本經濟新聞聲稱NTT DoCoMo（JP:9437）決定停止研發新款 PHS手機，並不再為 PHS專用門號招攬新客戶，DoCoMo特別在週五午後公開澄清，反駁前述說法。該公司發言人Yuki Isono表示：「若說敝公司已經決定停止發展 PHS，那就是亂講。」至於未來如何扭轉PHS 為公司帶來的營運虧損等問題，DoCoMo方面則未立即回應。
