上週難得完全脫離部落圈的範圍，連一則 rss 都沒有閱讀。半數的時間都放在了解幾個東西上，分別是 Drupal、cPanel、ezPublish，還有一些在 VPS/VDS hosting 環境下動作所必需學習的指令。Motomosa 的所有兩百多篇短文也已經全部由手工轉到新的 drupal system，以 collaborative book 的方式呈現，但實名為舊檔案資料庫。

等了十一個月終於讓我等到它：Drupal 是個非常有趣的系統。還有，Kablog 2.1.1 beta2 已經出來了，因為 drupal 支援 blogger api，所以從 nokia 3650 使用 kablog 直接貼圖到 drupal 的 “node(content)" 應該是指日可待。不過我早上試了一下，沒辦法好好使用，甚至 crash 整個 series 60 的 system，只好再寄信問原作者。若有必要，即使手頭拮据，我也會贊助作者寫好的 moblogging client。:)

若明年夏季有時間，可以來著手進行 drupal 的中文化。我因為已經把 motomosa/319papago 整個利用 drupal 來呈現，所以會花不少時間在上面。有些經驗或許有 reuse/recycle 的價值。From drupal.org:

尋思：在 mobile platform 上做 peercast/shoutcast 可能會創造出什麼樣的個人媒體生態？

早先在 #elixus channel 上有人建議我使用 adsl 架站，可惜在短期內對我來說，這個效益和時間的本益比投資實在過大，可能會有相當陡峭的學習曲線(笑)。所居之山區連線又非常不穩，只好延遲作罷。目前幾個轄下的網站都是租放在美國西岸某家公司的 shared hosting account，這對於沒有相關經驗和頻寬條件的人而言，顯然是一條捷徑。

放在國內？No。國內的虛擬主機真的太貴了，AUP, SLA 和 TOS 常常又灰色地帶太多，若要支撐起我目前schee.info下幾個網域的基本帳面數據，我最少要付出三倍以上的價錢。可以犧牲點境外的連線速度，但短期內實在是沒有足夠誘因驅使我去考慮國內的 hosting。 從去年八月學習架站以來，收穫不少，好歹也有了一個現在可以看到的簡單schee.info。可是呢，當安裝一些 software 要作 customization 時，常常會和 hosting company 的資源分享政策有所牴觸。Stepping out 的因緣，已在具足中悄悄來臨。

經過四天在各論壇的明察暗訪，從北歐跑到南歐，美國東岸調查到西岸，新加坡、日本和印度也一併 survey。研究了近百家的方案，終於找到合適和價格非常「友善」的 vps/vds hosting package。原屬意 bundle vps/vds 的 H-Sphere 沒有 hosting company 提供 feasible solution，只好使用入門的 cPanel/WHM。虛擬主機的套裝服務中包含了五個 IP 位址，伺服器的 memory is burstable to 512MB(最低保證128MB – 抱歉，我實在不知道中文怎麼講)，3GB的空間，每月70GB的頻寬。自己要學著架 wap/sms/moblog gateway(maybe, just maybe)，只好硬者頭皮加快腳步。看來這一週的工作要點就是對新的站下功夫，也祈望一切順利才好。兩季後再來評估成效。

繼上次的 blackout 後，textamerica 再次推出因應情勢 event-driven 型的 moblogging site，讓身歷其境的使用者可以跳過傳統媒體的「餵養流程」，以自己的觀點來 provide 影像：fire.textamerica.com。非常聰明。

“Blackout" 已經鎖了起來成為 archive，不能繼續更新。或許這種半(偽)即時(semi-live, pseudo-live?) 的 archiving 加上一點後端管理者的編輯動作，也可以是一種有趣的歷史呈現方式。除了 archive.org 長期以來對於 www 上的資訊有系統的去建立數位歷史檔案之外，若鋪陳的 nodes 場景換做是下一代的 smart devices(connected phones, pda…) 上，這不知道有沒有做的必要。Microhistory(as apposed to macrohistory)? Hmm…semantically annotated places 和 moblogging. :/

許多人剛開始瀏覽 blog 一陣子後會發現，若要定期追蹤，是一件頗為耗時的額外工作。還好，許多 blog 會由系統自動產生 rss(rich site summary)，讓閱讀的人可以使用 “aggregator"，只要有網路連線，妳不必開啟瀏覽器(IE, Mozilla..)就可以直接從電腦閱讀和訂閱不同 blog 所提供的 rss files。聽起來非常方便，不是嗎？以下是來自各方的介紹和使用經驗：
